Mark Locatelli, Ph.D.

Senior Software Engineer

Originally from Santa Cruz, CA, Mark received his Ph.D. in Materials Science Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. His work since then has focused on making technology work for everyone by leveraging data to design better, more intuitive products. He has worked to transform many industries including energy, transportation, banking, education, and agriculture.

Why PAIRIN? Our dynamic society demands that individuals constantly develop new skills to keep pace with changing technologies. PAIRIN is dedicated to building the tools we all need to take on the challenges of managing our careers. I am very excited to help build these tools to foster these skills in our communities.

Who/what has been your greatest teacher? The cows are my greatest current teacher. My wife and I have been working more on the family ranch in California. We’ve both worked with large animals all our lives, but getting the calls from the city or the neighbors when an animal gets into trouble has given us a whole new perspective on our responsibility to care for our community.
